We remember what was on the table long after we’ve forgotten how it was set.
The meals that stay with us are rarely remembered for the recipe alone. There was a table, a room, the people around it — and something about that particular day.
OBJECTS
There is something in your house your family will throw away when you die.
You might walk past it every day. To you, it carries a whole story. To somebody else, it may be nothing more than an old chair, a chipped bowl or a box that has been taking up space for years.
